BEAUTIFUL - EMPOWERING - TIMELESS MATERNITY AND NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY
Professional Tampa Newborn Photographer

Rachel Rayne Photography is Tampa's Premier newborn photo studio. When booking a Tampa newborn photographer, it's important to find someone who is a good fit for your family.
Beautiful, timeless, & safe portraits of your newborn baby is what I do here at Rachel Rayne Photography. I have been trained by some of the most highly regarded newborn Photographers in the world, andI am a huge advocate for newborn safety in the Tampa Bay Area.
My goal in every photo session is to capture amazing photos of your precious little one, and your family, while keeping baby safe and sound. I pride myself in creating creative portraits that are one of a kind for your little one!
Since getting out of the house with a new baby is often difficult. I strive to make my newborn sessions to be easy on parents. I provide all the props, wraps, and accessories that you see in my portfolio and also provide refreshments for your time at my photography studio. Most parents laugh because the few hours we are together is the biggest break they have had since the baby arrived.
-Newborn photography with an emphasis on safety-
I have 13 years of experience working with newborns and making sure that I practice safe posing. 10 of those years, I have specialized as a newborn photographer. Many photographers travel from all over the world to be taught the art of newborn photography by me. Growing a community of sound, highly trained newborn photographers to keep babies all over the world safe, is my passion.
When focusing on posed newborn portraits, it's important that the photographer you choose knows about keeping your baby safe during the session. I do work with an assistant to make sure your baby is always taken care of. She is there to make sure the baby is safe while getting those beautiful portraits that you have fallen in love with.
I typically like to have babies in within the first 14 days of life, however, I do often photograph babies up to 6 weeks. Newborn photography requires a lot of patience and I fully believe in letting your baby lead the way. If you're looking for a newborn photographer near you, we can defintiely help!

When to book your Tampa newborn photos
I always recommend booking as soon as possible. This is especially true if you want a custom set or creative newborn portraits. Those set ups are made by me and do take some time to create so booking in advance allows us more time to get creative. Newborn sessions are typically done in the first 14 days after birth so we want to have everything ready and planned before baby arrives. Spots do fill up quickly so to make sure a spot is available please inquiry early.
What to bring to a Tampa newborn baby photo session
I send out a full prep guide and questionnaire for all my clients. We will plan everything our before your photo shoot together. I have all the props, outfits, headbands, and wraps we will need for the session, so you just need to show up. For parents, I do have a closet full of gowns or I send out recommendations for that as well.
What if I don't know when the baby will be born or if they are early/ late?
We book newborns based on spots rather than dates. This keeps it incredibly flexible. When the baby arrives, you let me know and we will schedule you for the next available weekday.
We do not hold sessions on weekends, so please plan ahead for this.
What To Expect during your Tampa newborn photo session
If your baby has any band-aids on the foot, thigh, etc please remove them as soon as you possibly can to allow the marks to disappear.
Feed your baby how you normally do (breast-feed, formula-feed, or both). Bring plenty of bottles. Your baby will need to eat more often during the photo shoot than they normally do.
How newborn baby photooshoots work with RRP
When you arrive at the studio, be prepared to feed your baby. We want the baby to be full and sleeping after the feeding to ensure we can get started.
Patience is key. If your baby is fussy or alert, do not get worried. Babies can sense anxiety and we want to keep the environment as calm as possible. We will try and get them comfortable again, but if that does not seem possible, we will take a break or may even reschedule (at the photographer’s discretion). The shoot can take up to 4 hours if your baby needs more time.
We do have drinks, coffee, and snacks for everyone to enjoy while you wait.
If siblings are being photographed, my goal is to get their portion completed first just in case they don't want to sit the whole time. I highly recommend bringing toys, books, or an electronic device that they enjoy for after their photos are done.
The Newborn Photography Studio
I currently have a large, comfy space in downtown Plant City, Florida. The studio has everything you could need for your newborn photography session.
I hand pick each prop for my photo sessions so that they fit the uniqueness of my style as an artist. I provide all of the beautifully textured fabrics wraps, headbands, props for baby, and I also have a wonderful studio wardrobe collection for all my clients to use for both their maternity photos and their parent photos during the newborn baby photo shoot.
Hair & Make-Up for Expecting Mothers
I do have a hair and makeup artist who is available the morning of your photo shoot. How it works is you'll arrive at the time of your session and our hair and makeup artist will do your hair and makeup while we photograph the baby. This makes your time with us relaxing and a time to be pampered
Newborn Baby Safety and training
The comfort and safety of your newborn baby is always my very first priority. I have specialized training to handle newborns by some of the top leading newborn photographers in the world. I strive to participate in new trainings in the field every year in order for me to be able to stay up to date on new information regarding newborn safety. Newborn babies are photographed in my studio is historic downtown Plant City Fl. I do not currently offer travel sessions for newborns. I prefer to photograph newborns between 6-20 days old. My style is simple and timeless. I want your children to look at these images one day and see the beauty in a newly born baby. Their little fingers, their sweet lips, and all the perfection that comes with seeing a newborn is my focus. For this reason, I do not typically incorporate big set ups, big headbands, or props to avoid taking the focus off of your little one. Rachel Rayne Photography services all of Hillsborough county, Pinellas County, Polk County, Sarasota County, Brandon, Riverview, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Plant city, and the greater Tampa area. The opportunities are endless!

From this day forward, everything changes.
You have a new reason for living.
You have a new reason to love.
And just weeks from now, your little one
will no longer fit so tiny in your arms.
They are only this little for just a moment in time.
These are your moments…
with a newborn portrait session, you can hold on to them forever.
I would be so honored to photograph and celebrate your newborn with you. Contact me so we can work together to create beautiful portraits and fine art that you can enjoy for years and years to come.
I always recommend having your newborn pictures when the baby is between 7-14 days old.
Although that time is ideal, I completely understand that emergencies arise, and it is not something that is required, but it is the perfect time for a baby to be sleepy which creates a better chance of getting those sleepy, curly poses that we all love.
If you are in the Tampa Bay area and are expecting, or have just had your baby, call me to chat about how I can help you capture these ever-so-fleeting moments!
Newborn sessions typically book up pretty quickly, so I always recommend inquiring if I have any last-minute spots. If I cannot accommodate your due date, I also know plenty of amazing newborn Photographers in the Tampa Bay Area that may be able to help!
